On the network it is Walthamstow Central (the Victoria line and London Overground) to Swanley (National Rail), plus a connecting bus at the far end. The catch is that there is no service to the circuit itself, so you end up in a taxi from the station regardless. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 50 min, or 1h 15m when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
Out of Walthamstow (E17) the driver picks up the A406 then the A112 then the A503, joining M20 J2 or M25 J3, then A20 for the run-in. That is about 25.5 miles. Reckon 50 min off-peak and 1h 15m if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.

Driving yourself to Brands Hatch means joining the same single-file exit as everyone else, and the car parks empty in one slow wave rather than continuously. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
Gates open well before the first race and the roads in are single-file near the course. Leaving Walthamstow about 1h 15m ahead of when you want to be through the turnstile is the timing that holds up.
