By rail you would go Woolwich (the Elizabeth line, DLR and Southeastern) across to Meridian Water (National Rail), then a 10-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is an infrequent service that stops running before the venue does. The taxi is about 35 min, or 55 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
