By rail you would go Bank (Central, Northern, Waterloo & City and the DLR) across to North Greenwich (the Jubilee line), then a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the Jubilee platforms are a crush for 40 minutes after a show empties. The taxi is about 20 min, or 40 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
Out of Bank (EC2, EC3, EC4) the driver picks up the A10 then the A1211, joining A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach, then Millennium Way for the run-in. That is about 6.8 miles. Reckon 20 min off-peak and 40 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
Bank is dense, one-way and camera-enforced. The driver texts a workable standing point in EC2, EC3, EC4 instead of guessing, which is the difference between a two-minute wait and a fine.

The Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels are free between 22:00 and 06:00, so a return leg after a late finish costs the same as the outbound. If you were thinking of driving yourself: The O2 Arena sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. A drop-off and a booked return sidesteps it entirely.
Doors are usually an hour before the gig. Working back, that means leaving Bank around 40 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
