Event & venue transfers
Brixton to The O2 Arena runs to roughly 8.7 miles and 25 min off-peak. We quote £55 and that is the number you pay, whatever the traffic does.
A taxi from Brixton to The O2 Arena is £55 in a saloon, £70 in a 6-seat MPV and £80 in an 8-seater. It is about 8.7 miles and 25 min off-peak, or 45 min in traffic. The fare is fixed at the moment you book and covers tolls, the driver's waiting time and your luggage.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Fixed fare |
|---|---|---|
| Saloon | up to 4 passengers, 2 large cases | from £55 |
| MPV | up to 6 passengers, 4 large cases | from £70 |
| 8-seater | up to 7 passengers, 7 large cases | from £80 |
Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
By rail you would go Brixton (the Victoria line) across to North Greenwich (the Jubilee line), then a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the Jubilee platforms are a crush for 40 minutes after a show empties. Door to door by road is about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
From the SW2, SW9 streets the route runs via the A23 then the A204, finishing on A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach, then Millennium Way. About 8.7 miles in all - 25 min when it flows, 45 min when it does not.
Any address across Brixton works, SW2, SW9 included, at whatever hour the South London traffic is doing its worst.
Private hire pickup is next to Car Park 3, past the Tesco on Millennium Way - not the main Entrance A forecourt, which is coach and black-cab only. The Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels are free between 22:00 and 06:00, so a return leg after a late finish costs the same as the outbound. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: Peninsula Square, Greenwich Peninsula, SE10 0DX.
If you were thinking of driving yourself: The O2 Arena sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Pre-booked both ways, none of that is your problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the gig. Working back, that means leaving Brixton around 45 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£55 in a saloon, £70 in a 6-seat MPV and £80 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 25 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Brixton to North Greenwich plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
Private hire pickup is next to Car Park 3, past the Tesco on Millennium Way - not the main Entrance A forecourt, which is coach and black-cab only. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
A 6-seat MPV is £70 and an 8-seater £80. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
No. The fare is fixed when you book. Traffic, tolls and the hour are our problem, not a line on your bill.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
