Event & venue transfers
Around 7.9 miles door to door, 25 min when the roads are behaving. From £55, locked at booking, with no meter running and no surge applied.
A taxi from Brixton to The Championships, Wimbledon is £55 in a saloon, £65 in a 6-seat MPV and £75 in an 8-seater. It is about 7.9 miles and 25 min off-peak, or 45 min in traffic. The fare is fixed at the moment you book and covers tolls, the driver's waiting time and your luggage.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Fixed fare |

| Saloon | up to 4 passengers, 2 large cases | from £55 |
| MPV | up to 6 passengers, 4 large cases | from £65 |
| 8-seater | up to 7 passengers, 7 large cases | from £75 |
Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
The public-transport version starts at Brixton (the Victoria line) and finishes at Southfields (the District line), with a 15-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Southfields is queue-managed throughout The Championships. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
The usual line from Brixton is the A23 then the A204, then A3 then A219 Parkside at the end. About 7.9 miles in all - 25 min when it flows, 45 min when it does not.
We cover the whole of Brixton - SW2, SW9 - including the streets where flagging something down is a matter of luck rather than timing.
Somerset Road or Burghley Road; Church Road itself is closed to traffic during The Championships. Church Road and Somerset Road operate a controlled zone through the fortnight, so drivers meet at the agreed gate rather than the main entrance. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: All England Lawn Tennis Club, Church Road, SW19 5AE.
Parking at The Championships, Wimbledon is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the day at the tennis. Working back, that means leaving Brixton around 45 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£55 in a saloon, £65 in a 6-seat MPV and £75 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 25 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Brixton to Southfields plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
Somerset Road or Burghley Road; Church Road itself is closed to traffic during The Championships. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
A 6-seat MPV is £65 and an 8-seater £75. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
Card, bank transfer or a business account, before or after the journey. A VAT receipt is issued either way.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
