On the network it is Brixton (the Victoria line) to Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), plus a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
From the SW2, SW9 streets the route runs via the A23 then the A204, finishing on A13 then Connaught Bridge and Western Gateway. That is about 10.4 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
Any address across Brixton works, SW2, SW9 included, at whatever hour the South London traffic is doing its worst.

Parking at ExCeL London is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Pre-booked both ways, none of that is your problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the event. Working back, that means leaving Brixton around 50 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
