By rail you would go Bethnal Green (the Central line) across to Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), then a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 20 min, or 40 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
From the E2 streets the route runs via the A1209 then the A107, finishing on A13 then Connaught Bridge and Western Gateway. That is about 6.6 miles. Reckon 20 min off-peak and 40 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
