Event & venue transfers
Fixed at £65 from Camden to ExCeL London, about 11.4 miles and 30 min on a clear road. The price is locked when you book, not when you travel.
A taxi from Camden to ExCeL London is £65 in a saloon, £85 in a 6-seat MPV and £95 in an 8-seater. It is about 11.4 miles and 30 min off-peak, or 50 min in traffic. The fare is fixed at the moment you book and covers tolls, the driver's waiting time and your luggage.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Fixed fare |
|---|---|---|
| Saloon | up to 4 passengers, 2 large cases | from £65 |
| MPV | up to 6 passengers, 4 large cases | from £85 |
| 8-seater | up to 7 passengers, 7 large cases | from £95 |
Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
The public-transport version starts at Camden Town (the Northern line) and finishes at Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), with a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. The taxi is about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
Out of Camden (NW1, NW3) the driver picks up the A400 then the A502, joining A13 then Connaught Bridge and Western Gateway for the run-in. That is about 11.4 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
We cover the whole of Camden - NW1, NW3 - including the streets where flagging something down is a matter of luck rather than timing.
The Western or Eastern entrance taxi ranks on Western Gateway. ExCeL is over a kilometre end to end, so it matters whether your hall is at the West or East entrance - tell us the hall number when booking. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, E16 1XL.
Parking at ExCeL London is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Pre-booked both ways, none of that is your problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the event. Working back, that means leaving Camden around 50 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£65 in a saloon, £85 in a 6-seat MPV and £95 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 30 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Camden Town to Custom House plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
The Western or Eastern entrance taxi ranks on Western Gateway. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
No. The fare is fixed when you book. Traffic, tolls and the hour are our problem, not a line on your bill.
A 6-seat MPV is £85 and an 8-seater £95. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
