By rail you would go Camden Town (the Northern line) across to Kensington (Olympia) (District and the Overground), then a 2-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the District service to Olympia is sparse outside event days. The taxi is about 25 min, or 40 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
The usual line from Camden is the A400 then the A502, then A4 then A315 Hammersmith Road at the end. That is about 7.0 miles. Reckon 25 min off-peak and 40 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
