By car the driver follows Lower Thames Street and the Embankment, heads through Knightsbridge and along the Cromwell Road to the A4 and M4.
By rail it is a ten-minute walk to Liverpool Street and then the Elizabeth line direct to Heathrow.
By public transport: Walk to Liverpool Street, then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, about 55–65 min. The catch is the walk to Liverpool Street with cases. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 55 min, or 90 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Fenchurch Street (EC3M) the route runs along Lower Thames Street and the Embankment, through Knightsbridge and along the Cromwell Road to the A4 and M4. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the M4, the A4 and the Cromwell Road, then the Embankment back to Fenchurch Street. That is about 18 miles: reckon 55 min off-peak and 90 min when the Embankment and the Cromwell Road is busy.
