The Piccadilly line runs direct from King's Cross St Pancras to every Heathrow terminal. It is cheap but takes about an hour, with no space for luggage at busy times.
By car the driver heads west along the Euston and Marylebone Roads, over the Westway and out on the A40, dropping down the A312 to the airport.
By public transport: Piccadilly line direct from King's Cross St Pancras to Heathrow, about 55–70 min. The catch is a long, crowded Tube ride with cases. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 45 min, or 80 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of St Pancras International (N1C) the route runs west along the Euston and Marylebone Roads to the Westway, then out on the A40 and down the A312. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the A312, the A40 and the Westway, then the Marylebone and Euston Roads back to St Pancras. That is about 17 miles: reckon 45 min off-peak and 80 min when the Euston Road and the Westway is busy.
Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall of your terminal (T2, T3, T4 or T5) holding a name board. The terminal is set from your flight number when you book.
The driver meets you in arrivals and takes you to the Eurostar entrance, in time for the check-in cut-off on your ticket.
The Euston Road and the Westway are the slow points. If you are connecting from a Eurostar to a long-haul flight, allow at least four hours between trains and take-off.
