By rail you would go South Kensington (the Piccadilly, District and Circle lines) across to Kensington (Olympia) (District and the Overground), then a 2-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the District service to Olympia is sparse outside event days. The taxi is about 10 min, or 20 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
