The catch is that Olympic Way is queue-managed after full time and the walk is uphill. Door to door by road is about 35 min, or 1h 05m when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.

If you were thinking of driving yourself: Wembley Stadium sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
