The public-transport version starts at Streatham (National Rail) and finishes at Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), with a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. Door to door by road is about 30 min, or 55 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.

Parking at ExCeL London is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
