Out of Beckenham (BR3) the route runs through Elmers End and Croydon to the A23 and M23. Coming back from Gatwick the driver follows the M23 and A23 north, then Croydon back to Beckenham. That is about 20 miles: reckon 45 min off-peak and 70 min when Croydon and the Purley Way is busy.
