The public-transport version starts at Earl's Court (the District and Piccadilly lines) and finishes at Southfields (the District line), with a 15-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Southfields is queue-managed throughout The Championships. Door to door by road is about 20 min, or 40 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
Out of Earls Court (SW5, W8) the driver picks up the A4 then the A3220, joining A3 then A219 Parkside for the run-in. About 6.9 miles in all - 20 min when it flows, 40 min when it does not.
