The public-transport version starts at Balham (the Northern line and Southern) and finishes at Southfields (the District line), with a 15-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Southfields is queue-managed throughout The Championships. Door to door by road is about 20 min, or 30 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
Out of Balham (SW12) the driver picks up the A24 then the A205, joining A3 then A219 Parkside for the run-in. Roughly 4.9 miles, and the timing swings with the hour rather than the route: 20 min clear, 30 min loaded.
Balham pickups take in all of SW12. Controlled parking zones and one-way systems are the driver's problem to solve, not yours.
Somerset Road or Burghley Road; Church Road itself is closed to traffic during The Championships. Church Road and Somerset Road operate a controlled zone through the fortnight, so drivers meet at the agreed gate rather than the main entrance. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.

Parking at The Championships, Wimbledon is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
