The public-transport version starts at Hammersmith (Piccadilly, District, Circle and Hammersmith & City) and finishes at Southfields (the District line), with a 15-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Southfields is queue-managed throughout The Championships. The taxi is about 20 min, or 40 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
From the W6, W12, W14, SW6 streets the route runs via the A4 then the A40 then the A219, finishing on A3 then A219 Parkside. About 6.8 miles in all - 20 min when it flows, 40 min when it does not.

Church Road and Somerset Road operate a controlled zone through the fortnight, so drivers meet at the agreed gate rather than the main entrance.
