By rail you would go Hammersmith (Piccadilly, District, Circle and Hammersmith & City) across to North Greenwich (the Jubilee line), then a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that the Jubilee platforms are a crush for 40 minutes after a show empties. The taxi is about 35 min, or 1h when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
From the W6, W12, W14, SW6 streets the route runs via the A4 then the A40 then the A219, finishing on A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach, then Millennium Way. Roughly 13.6 miles, and the timing swings with the hour rather than the route: 35 min clear, 1h loaded.
Hammersmith & Fulham pickups take in all of W6, W12, W14, SW6. Controlled parking zones and one-way systems are the driver's problem to solve, not yours.
Private hire pickup is next to Car Park 3, past the Tesco on Millennium Way - not the main Entrance A forecourt, which is coach and black-cab only. The Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels are free between 22:00 and 06:00, so a return leg after a late finish costs the same as the outbound. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.

If you were thinking of driving yourself: The O2 Arena sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
