By rail you would go Bank (Central, Northern, Waterloo & City and the DLR) across to Alexandra Palace (National Rail), then a 20-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a steep uphill walk unless you wait for the shuttle. Door to door by road is about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
