By rail you would go Whitechapel (District, Elizabeth and the Overground) across to Alexandra Palace (National Rail), then a 20-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a steep uphill walk unless you wait for the shuttle. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
