Fixed at £50 from Whitechapel to ExCeL London, about 6.7 miles and 20 min on a clear road. The price is locked when you book, not when you travel.

Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
The public-transport version starts at Whitechapel (District, Elizabeth and the Overground) and finishes at Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), with a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. Door to door by road is about 20 min, or 40 min when the roads are full, with no changes, no stairs and no queue at the barrier. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
Out of Whitechapel (E1) the driver picks up the A11 then the A1202, joining A13 then Connaught Bridge and Western Gateway for the run-in. About 6.7 miles in all - 20 min when it flows, 40 min when it does not.
Any address across Whitechapel works, E1 included, at whatever hour the East London traffic is doing its worst.
The Western or Eastern entrance taxi ranks on Western Gateway. ExCeL is over a kilometre end to end, so it matters whether your hall is at the West or East entrance - tell us the hall number when booking. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, E16 1XL.
Parking at ExCeL London is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. A drop-off and a booked return sidesteps it entirely.
Doors are usually an hour before the event. Working back, that means leaving Whitechapel around 40 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£50 in a saloon, £60 in a 6-seat MPV and £65 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 20 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Whitechapel to Custom House plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
The Western or Eastern entrance taxi ranks on Western Gateway. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
A 6-seat MPV is £60 and an 8-seater £65. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
Card, bank transfer or a business account, before or after the journey. A VAT receipt is issued either way.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
