Event & venue transfers
Around 10.3 miles door to door, 30 min when the roads are behaving. From £65, locked at booking, with no meter running and no surge applied.
A taxi from Tower Hamlets to Alexandra Palace is £65 in a saloon, £80 in a 6-seat MPV and £90 in an 8-seater. It is about 10.3 miles and 30 min off-peak, or 50 min in traffic. The fare is fixed at the moment you book and covers tolls, the driver's waiting time and your luggage.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Fixed fare |
|---|---|---|
| Saloon | up to 4 passengers, 2 large cases | from £65 |
| MPV | up to 6 passengers, 4 large cases | from £80 |
| 8-seater | up to 7 passengers, 7 large cases | from £90 |
Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
The public-transport version starts at Mile End (Central, District and Hammersmith & City) and finishes at Alexandra Palace (National Rail), with a 20-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a steep uphill walk unless you wait for the shuttle. The taxi is about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full, but it is one journey rather than three, and nobody stands up for any of it. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
From the E1, E2, E3, E14 streets the route runs via the A13 then the A1261, finishing on A406 North Circular, then Bounds Green Road. That is about 10.3 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
Tower Hamlets pickups take in all of E1, E2, E3, E14. Controlled parking zones and one-way systems are the driver's problem to solve, not yours.
The Palm Court entrance on Alexandra Palace Way. The hill up to the Palace is steep and the internal roads run one-way on event nights, so pickup is at Palm Court rather than the car parks. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: Alexandra Palace Way, Wood Green, N22 7AY.
Parking at Alexandra Palace is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the show. Working back, that means leaving Tower Hamlets around 50 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£65 in a saloon, £80 in a 6-seat MPV and £90 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 30 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Mile End to Alexandra Palace plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
The Palm Court entrance on Alexandra Palace Way. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
A 6-seat MPV is £80 and an 8-seater £90. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
Card, bank transfer or a business account, before or after the journey. A VAT receipt is issued either way.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
