By rail you would go Piccadilly Circus (Bakerloo and Piccadilly) across to South Kensington (District, Circle and Piccadilly), then a 12-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is a pleasant walk in daylight and much less so leaving late. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 15 min, or 25 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. It is a fair fight on the way there. On the way back, when several thousand people want the same platform, it stops being one.
Out of Piccadilly (W1J, W1B) the driver picks up the A4 then the A302, joining A4 Cromwell Road, then Exhibition Road for the run-in. That is about 3.5 miles. Reckon 15 min off-peak and 25 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.
