The public-transport version starts at Piccadilly Circus (Bakerloo and Piccadilly) and finishes at Wembley Park (Metropolitan and Jubilee), with a 12-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that Olympic Way is queue-managed after full time and the walk is uphill. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
Out of Piccadilly (W1J, W1B) the driver picks up the A4 then the A302, joining A406 North Circular, then Harrow Road and South Way for the run-in. That is about 10.4 miles. Reckon 30 min off-peak and 50 min if you are crossing town at the wrong moment.

If you were thinking of driving yourself: Wembley Stadium sits inside a matchday or event-day controlled parking zone, on-site spaces are pre-book only and go early, and the residential streets around it are permit-holders only with active enforcement. A drop-off and a booked return sidesteps it entirely.
Doors are usually an hour before the match. Working back, that means leaving Piccadilly around 50 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
