By public transport: Northern line to Bank, then the DLR, about 40–50 min. The catch is a change at Bank with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 40 min, or 60 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Archway (N19) the route runs down the Holloway Road, through Highbury Corner to City Road and the Limehouse Link. Coming back from London City the driver follows the A13 and Limehouse Link, City Road and the Holloway Road back to Archway. That is about 12 miles: reckon 40 min off-peak and 60 min when Holloway Road and City Road is busy.
