By rail it is the District line to Whitechapel and then the Elizabeth line direct to Heathrow, one change.
By car the driver heads west on the A13 into the City, along Marylebone Road to the Westway and out on the A40 to the airport.
By public transport: District line to Whitechapel, then the Elizabeth line to Heathrow, about 70–85 min. The catch is a change at Whitechapel with luggage. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 70 min, or 105 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of East Ham (E6) the route runs west along the A13 into the City, then Marylebone Road and the A40 Westway, and down the A312. Coming back from Heathrow the driver follows the A312 and the Westway, then the City and the A13 back to E6. That is about 25 miles: reckon 70 min off-peak and 105 min when the A13, the City and the Westway is busy.

East Ham runs from the station and High Street North, with its many South Asian shops and restaurants, past the Old Town Hall and Central Park to Wallend and Beckton, with Green Street and Upton Park on its western side.
High Street North is busy with buses and loading bays. For addresses on it, we pick up on a side street, and the driver calls when outside.
