Event & venue transfers
Around 10.4 miles door to door, 30 min when the roads are behaving. From £65, locked at booking, with no meter running and no surge applied.
A taxi from Soho to ExCeL London is £65 in a saloon, £80 in a 6-seat MPV and £90 in an 8-seater. It is about 10.4 miles and 30 min off-peak, or 50 min in traffic. The fare is fixed at the moment you book and covers tolls, the driver's waiting time and your luggage.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Fixed fare |
|---|---|---|
| Saloon | up to 4 passengers, 2 large cases | from £65 |
| MPV | up to 6 passengers, 4 large cases | from £80 |
| 8-seater | up to 7 passengers, 7 large cases | from £90 |
Per vehicle, not per person. Tolls, congestion and crossing charges are already inside the price, and it does not change on the day.
On the network it is Tottenham Court Road (Central, Northern and Elizabeth) to Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), plus a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 30 min, or 50 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. Two people with hand luggage should take the train. Three or more, or anyone with a case, and the fixed fare splits better than the tickets do.
The usual line from Soho is the A4 then the A400, then A13 then Connaught Bridge and Western Gateway at the end. About 10.4 miles in all - 30 min when it flows, 50 min when it does not.
Soho is dense, one-way and camera-enforced. The driver texts a workable standing point in W1D, W1F instead of guessing, which is the difference between a two-minute wait and a fine.
The Western or Eastern entrance taxi ranks on Western Gateway. ExCeL is over a kilometre end to end, so it matters whether your hall is at the West or East entrance - tell us the hall number when booking. Your driver sends the exact standing point and the registration before they set off, so you are not circling a car park looking for a number plate.
Address: One Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, E16 1XL.
Parking at ExCeL London is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. A drop-off and a booked return sidesteps it entirely.
Doors are usually an hour before the event. Working back, that means leaving Soho around 50 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
£65 in a saloon, £80 in a 6-seat MPV and £90 in an 8-seater. That is the fixed price, agreed at booking.
Door to door the car is about 30 min off-peak. The rail alternative is Tottenham Court Road to Custom House plus the walk, which is competitive going out and considerably slower coming back.
The Western or Eastern entrance taxi ranks on Western Gateway. You get the exact point and the registration by text beforehand.
Yes, and it is the leg worth booking. The driver is in position before you come out instead of you joining the queue that forms the moment it ends.
No. The fare is fixed when you book. Traffic, tolls and the hour are our problem, not a line on your bill.
The driver waits. We watch venue finish times rather than working to a fixed clock, so a late curtain does not leave you stranded or cost you extra.
A 6-seat MPV is £80 and an 8-seater £90. Bigger parties travel in several vehicles routed together.
Fares are fixed at booking and shown per vehicle. Distances and journey times are approximate and vary with traffic and the exact pickup address. Page reviewed 7 September 2026.
