The public-transport version starts at Shoreditch High Street (the Overground) and finishes at Custom House (Elizabeth line and the DLR), with a 5-minute walk at the far end. The catch is that it is fine with one bag and awkward if you are carrying exhibition kit. A car does the whole thing door to door in about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full - and it does it with your bags in the boot. If you are travelling light and early, the train usually wins on price. If you are in a group, carrying anything, or leaving after an event, the car wins on everything else.
From the EC2A, E1, N1 streets the route runs via the A10 then the A1202, finishing on A13 then Connaught Bridge and Western Gateway. About 8.2 miles in all - 25 min when it flows, 45 min when it does not.
Pickups in Shoreditch land inside the Congestion Charge zone, which is already in the price - and on EC2A, E1, N1 the driver will name a legal stopping point rather than idle on a red route.

Parking at ExCeL London is limited and the surrounding streets are metered or permit-only, so self-driving usually costs more in time than the fare saves. Being dropped at the door and collected at an agreed point removes the whole problem.
Doors are usually an hour before the event. Working back, that means leaving Shoreditch around 45 min plus that hour on a busy night - and booking the return at the same time, because the road out is slower than the road in.
