From HA7 the driver joins the M1 at junction 4, or takes the A41, and heads north to junction 10 for the airport. It is one of the shortest airport runs from any London suburb.
Luton has low-cost flights to Tel Aviv when airlines are operating the route. By train it is a bus to Elstree or Mill Hill Broadway, Thameslink and then the DART.
By public transport: Train to St Pancras or West Hampstead, Thameslink to Luton Airport Parkway, then the DART, about 80–110 min. The catch is three separate legs and the DART shuttle at the end. A car does the whole trip door to door in about 25 min, or 45 min when the roads are full, with your bags in the boot.
Out of Stanmore (HA7) the route runs the A41 or the M1 at junction 4 and north to junction 10. Coming back from Luton the driver follows M1 south to junction 4 and into Stanmore. That is about 21 miles: reckon 25 min off-peak and 45 min when the M1 around junctions 6 and 8 is busy.
