West Hampstead Thameslink has direct trains to Luton Airport Parkway, where the DART shuttle takes you on to the terminal. It is one of the easiest Luton rail trips in London.
By car the driver heads up the Edgware Road through Cricklewood to Staples Corner and follows the M1 to junction 10.

Out of West Hampstead (NW6) the route runs north up the Edgware Road to Staples Corner and the M1. Coming back from Luton the driver follows the M1 south to Staples Corner and the Edgware Road back to West Hampstead. That is about 26 miles: reckon 35 min off-peak and 60 min when Cricklewood Broadway and Brent Cross is busy.

West Hampstead is a busy residential area centred on West End Lane, with its cafés and three railway stations side by side. Around it are mansion blocks, converted Victorian houses and quieter streets towards Fortune Green and Frognal.
West End Lane is narrow and busy near the stations. For flats on or near it, the driver may wait in a side street and call when outside.
